“Renewals live in a spreadsheet only one person understands. Members lapse and we find out when they call.”Membership
“A member asks how many CE credits they have, and it takes three systems and a day to answer.”Education and certification
“Event registration doesn't know who is a member, so we check the member rate by hand.”Events
“Every chapter keeps its own list. None of them match ours.”Chapters and components
“Sponsors and exhibitors are in someone's inbox. When they leave, so does the history.”Sponsorship
“The monthly report takes three days, and someone still asks where the numbers came from.”Executive director

Today

One member. Four versions.

Maria Lopez is in your membership system, your event registration, your learning system and your email platform. Each one knows her a little differently.

Where they disagree

Which Maria is the right one?

Her name is spelled three ways. There are two email addresses. Event registration thinks she has lapsed, and only the learning system knows her CE credits.

Connect

Every system points to one record.

Membership, events, learning and email each connect to the same member record, instead of keeping their own copy of her.

Resolve

One answer to every question.

One spelling, one email address, one membership status, and her CE credits where every team can see them.

One record

Everything about a member, in one place.

When membership, events, education and giving all write to the same record, anyone on your staff can answer a member's question in one screen.

  • Membership type, dues and renewal date, with reminders sent on their own
  • CE credits earned and still needed, updated when a course is completed
  • Events attended and registered for, at the right member rate
  • Chapter, committees and volunteer roles, visible to the people who need them
  • Gifts and sponsorships, connected to the person and their organization

The AMS decision

Replace the AMS, move to Salesforce, or fix what you have?

There are three honest answers, and each is right for some associations. The work is knowing which one is right for yours before anyone shows you a demo.

PATH 1

Replace your AMS with another AMS

An association management system does dues, renewals and events out of the box.

Fits when

  • Your processes are close to standard
  • Few other systems need to connect
  • You want one vendor to own it
PATH 2

Build your association on Salesforce

One record for every member, organization and chapter, with everything else connected to it, either configured directly or with an AMS built on Salesforce.

Fits when

  • Members are also donors, volunteers or sponsors
  • Several systems need to share one record
  • You want room to grow, including AI
PATH 3

Fix what you have

Sometimes the system is fine and the problem is a missing process, a broken connection or a field nobody fills in.

Fits when

  • The complaints are about how it is used
  • Your contract has years left
  • A few quick wins solve most of the pain

The Digital Readiness Blueprint weighs all three for your association, with the real cost of each, and is written so any partner can quote from it.

How we work with associations

Plan it, build it, run it. Then put AI to work.

Most associations start with a Blueprint. Every step stands on its own.

  1. Plan · 4 to 6 weeks

See every system, and what it costs.

We talk to membership, events, education, finance and whoever looks after chapters. Every system goes on one page with its owner, its annual cost and its renewal date, including the AMS contract. You finish with a ranked list of needs and a plan in stages your executive director and COO can approve.

    The Blueprint

  2. Build · in sprints

Connect it all around one member record.

Members, organizations and chapters first, then renewals and dues, events and registrations, certification and CE credits, sponsors and exhibitors. Built from the numbered requirements, nothing built before your approver signs, and a working demo at the end of every sprint.

    How implementation works

  3. Run · every month

Keep it running through every renewal season.

Your team raises a request, it is acknowledged the moment it arrives, and a certified Salesforce team picks it up the same business day, urgent issues first. Every request and hour is visible in the client portal, with a quarterly review.

    How support works

  4. AI · on a clean record

Let AI take the repetitive work.

Spotting members who are drifting before they lapse, answering CE credit questions in the member portal, drafting the monthly report from live figures. A person reviews every draft, and each use starts small, with a number to show it worked.

Practical AI for associations

Catch the renewal before it lapses.

On one clean member record, AI can see what a person can't: no event sign-ups in six months, credits falling short, emails unopened since spring. It drafts the check-in. Your membership team decides what goes out.

  • AI comes after one clean record, never instead of it
  • A person reviews every draft before anything is sent
  • You decide what AI can see and what it is allowed to do

Questions

What associations ask us.

What is the difference between an AMS and Salesforce?

An association management system is built for association work out of the box: dues, renewals, events and often certification. Salesforce is a platform. It holds one record for every person and organization and connects your other systems to it, and the association features come from how it is configured or from an AMS built on Salesforce.

Which suits you depends on how standard your processes are, how many other systems need to share the record, and whether your members are also donors, volunteers or sponsors.

Do we have to replace everything at once?

No. Most plans move in stages, each useful on its own. A common first stage is one record for every member, with renewal reminders sent on their own. Events, credits and the rest connect in later stages, when your team is ready and has seen the first one work.

How long does it take, and should we avoid renewal season?

The Blueprint takes four to six weeks from kickoff. The build is planned from the requirements register, sprint by sprint, so you know the timeline before it starts. We plan around your renewal cycle and your annual meeting, so nothing goes live in the weeks your staff can least afford a change.

What happens to our events platform and learning system?

If they work well, you can usually keep them. What matters is that registrations, attendance and completed courses land on the member record, so credits update and the member rate is applied without anyone checking by hand. The Blueprint shows which tools are worth keeping and which are costing more than they give.

Can our chapters work in the same system?

Yes. Each chapter can see its own members and activity, with access set by role, so chapter leaders stop keeping separate lists. How far to go depends on how independent your chapters are, and that is a question for the Blueprint, not for the build.

Will you just recommend Salesforce?

No. The Blueprint compares the paths open to you, including another AMS and keeping what you have. If another platform fits better, it says so, and it is written so any partner can quote from it.
